Wholesome and hearty

This is a great place to go in good or bad weather. In good weather the outdoor area is amazing, and there is a bit of greenspace for the kids to run around. And on a rainy day is there anything better then big hearty and meaty meals. This place is great value for money, as it is very reasonably priced and the serving sizes will ensure no body ever leaves hungry. The service is amazing, every time I go there I feel like I am joining the lovely family who owns/runs it for dinner. The location is a bit obscure, but well worth it.

We biked to Budapest today

Such a lovely Valentine's Day lunch. Great food, fabulous service, and excellent live music. Such a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. And great that they were fundraising to support a sister restaurant in Hungary's local community.

Sunday special lunch

My wife and I plus our daughter, son-in-law, grandson 3 and grand daughter 1 month went there for lunch last Sunday. 3 of us had the venison special which was tender and delicious. Pete the waiter was so good looking after us and our grandson during the day. Dessert was rich and delicious which I think was home made ice cream. Their bread rolls are large and delicious. This was our 4th visit and we have enjoyed the food, vino and friendly helpful staff. Plus they had a lady playing keyboard singing along with a classical violinist. Good value and most enjoyable.

Perfect venue for birthday party

We had the restaurant booked out for a birthday party for about 35 people. We had pre dinner platters of cured meats, cheeses, fruits etc and a delicious Hungarian buffet dinner followed by birthday cake and dessert selection. We brought our own supplies of wine. The venue, food and service were superb and we had an awesome night of eating, mingling, toasting, singing and dancing. A perfect venue for a Special family gathering. Thanks team!

Excellent tradtional Hungarian Food

We had a great lunch here today, at Anzil Hungarian Restaurant. Excellent service, very attentive and friendly staff, cosy ambience. Had some live-music there as well which was pleasant.Our food was delicious, I particularly liked the Hungarian sausage that came with the French Toast, my wife enjoyed the Eggs Florentine with Spinach. I can recommend this restaurant, the food is good and reasonable priced too.

Home delivered culinary fare during COVID-19 aleart level times

My wife and I have twice ordered home delivered Anzil2go meals for a week. We have done this for two reasons. First during COVID-19 alert levels we wanted to support local businesses, particularly those from the food and hospitality sector. And secondly because at home we wanted to again grasp the opportunity to savour an interesting culinary array from a restaurant we enjoyed in pre-COVID-19 alert level times. We were not disappointed as the meals more than fulfilled our expectations. My wife, moreover, was particularly relieved at having a break from my limited ‘gastronomic’ repertoire which she has suggested are monotonously devoid of subtlety.

Tasty and a little different

Very much enjoying our regular visits to this cafe. Hearty and tasty dishes with a selection of wines or beers to accompany the meal. Proper chef-prepared meals making this cafe a cut above the rest.
