Highlight of our New Zealand adventure

I should have writtent his review a while ago, since it has been 10 months since we were there. But better late than never. This is the first time i have written a review on tripadvisor, and i can't think of a more fitting B&B to write about. We stayed at Bushline by accident really. We followed a small sign at a turn off until we came to this little retreat. At first we thought it was out of our price range (we had been staying in cheap hotels and capming grounds). Sue convinced us it was worth a little splurge. And she was right. Our 6 month old fell asleep early, and we were able to relax in the spa with a bottle of wine, and gaze up at the stars. it was so fantastic. Then Sue took us down to the Glow Worms for a little private showing, which was simply amazing. The rooms were great, the house was great, the breakfast was awesome, the hospitality was first class, and by the time we left the next day we were dragging our heals, not wanting to leave really, and a littel sad to be saying goodbye to Sue. This truly was one of our highlights of 2 weeks in New Zealand. Sam (Australia), Anna (Sweden). …

The perfect place to relax!

This is a fantastic bed and breakfast to stay in. The setting is so tranquil and relaxing. The hosts are wonderful, so accomodating and genuinely friendly. The breakfast was really delicious. We loved staying here, with one of the highlights visiting a glow worm dell...truly amazing! You just have to stay here if you are going to Hokitka.

Lovely Rooms in a peaceful location with great hosts

If you like a homestay or B&B then this is the place for you. Bushline Retreat is set in a lovely private location that is approximately 9km from Hokitika town centre. We stayed in the Coast Room which I believe was the largest of four B&B rooms. It was spacious comfortable and extremely clean with ranch sliders that opened up onto a patio and garden with rural views of the valley. Pete and Sue were extremely accommodating and keen to share their local knowledge along with their home. The continental breakfast was a sheer delight, with plenty of fresh fruits, cereal, bread, muffins and Pete also made some delicious cookies for our arrival. The sprigs of lavender and fuschia on our side plates in the morning was a really nice touch. The spa was also a real gem which we used on both evenings of our stay, with big fluffy spa towels and robes which were provided by Sue.. It was wonderful to soak at night with a glass of wine looking up at the stars after a busy day at the Wildfoods Festival. Although we din't have a chance to go with Pete on his glow worm dell tour, the reviews in the guest book highly recommend it. All in all a great stay so for all those reading this check out the yearly Wildfoods Festival in March...an amazing and totally Kiwi experience. …
