Essence Cafe and Bar, Feilding

We had a work dinner for about a dozen people and we tried Essence for the first time. Nice setting, and our server welcomed us and took drinks orders - Lochie our server provided good insight as to what drinks they did have and also what they didn’t have, with some good friendly banter. The menus have a good range of choices but not so many that it was overwhelming. I was last to the restaurant and was asked first what my order was so I simply chose the top item on the menu - a lamb burger and it was great. The meals came out surprisingly quickly given the number of us and there was no long wait between the first and last meals being served so everyone’s meal was hot. Everyone was very happy with their choice. Same thing with desserts. The highlight of the evening however was Lochie - he had a really good in depth understanding of what was on the menu, asked intelligent questions in a entertaining manner to assist people with their decision making. Not one to miss an opportunity, Lochie took the opportunity to promote their high teas which did sound pretty spectacular and given our experience with the meals and service, I can’t imagine you would be disappointed. If you live in, are visiting, or passing through Feilding, you need to stop in to Essence for a meal and some entertaining banter with Lochie.

Visited with family for dinner - didn’t have a booking but they made us feel very welcome from the start, attentive service and meals were tasty. Steak was cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend and will be back.

So good. Had the beef short rib and it was fantastic. Great friendly staff. Would definately eat here again and again.

Food was delicious, staff were helpful and always smiling. Great atmosphere, staff paid attention to all tables and customers even while the place was busy. Menu had a great range of options, will definitely be back!!

Here with family for lunch which we decided on at the last moment and glad we did as nice clean and tidy place, ordered food and drinks and everything arrived fairly quickly and everyone enjoyed the food and perfect coffee so very happy and without a doubt will be back again.

Just the best menu, food and service, whenever in Feilding we always dine here open from 7am - 2.30pm then 6pm until late. All day breakfast, lunch and dinner available.

Had a wonderful meal on Saturday night the 27 February. Your host Lachlan was just excellent what an asset to your place he is. Your food was delicious, we were told all about each meal. Enjoyed a lovely dinner at Essence, excellent service, nice setting and delicious food! Recommend the venison and deconstructed banoffee pie. The chicken caesar salad looked really good too - I'll be back to try that next time.
