Well worth the effot

Definitely worth the visit and effort it is quite spectacular. Surprising the amount of people there also enjoying the experience. Definitely need a torch as there is no lighting.

Go see the glow..

You can’t see anything in the daylight.. You will start guessing which is which.. It’s best to go in the night time.. We were so amazed and we enjoyed the moment as if you were on the other dimension (That’s how I described it) We took a photo but we made sure that our camera has no flash..
It’s really worth it plus it’s free..
It’s roughly 20 min walk from the centre.
This place is not overrated.

Amazing

This was amazing. To get so close to them was great. Everywhere that you looked you could see these beautiful creatures. Only 5mins from town - well worth the trip

Glow home...

I think our expectations were a bit too high! We were expecting a scene out of avatar! When we arrived we saw groups of people staring at dark walls...we had to ask them to point out the glow worms. They do glow...but not enough to light up the space...we parked at the bottom of the hill, it’s a two min walk to the cave area...glad we were only staying 15mins away, wouldn’t of traveled much longer for this but hey it shows us how wonderful nature is right?

A wee gem

Well worth the 60 second walk. An absolute treasure.

Who could have thought such a fascinating piece of natural beauty could be so close to a State Highway.

Unexpectedly Good!

Only 1 minute walk in, and heaps of glow worms! Well worth a quick drive to spend 10 minutes in the dell! Ice creams on the way home was the only cost!

Wee gem.. great for kids

Free. 2min up hill walk to see the glow worms. Off the main highway just before you get into Hokitika. Kids loved the wee adventure. Take a torch for the walk from the carpark.
