Tranquil Gem off The Beaten Track.

Being on a boat, we moored near Totara North Wharf. An easy 20 imin (1.5km) walk took us along a shady road, past The local museum and old Timber Yards. Gumstore Bar and Grill opens about 12.30. What a delightful atmosphere! Stepping back in time to quiet, laid back tranquility, enhanced by the surrounding environment. Inside , The Gumstore is panelled in rich, warm native timbers. To add to the Olde Worlde atmosphere, the upper walls are lined with display cabinets of Gum Digger history and, Fishing Industry History. Looking higher up the walls one is awed by the work of An expert Taxidermist who has skillfully preserved Prize Specimens from the Sea. A good pool table, nice music, delicious fresh fish, great chips. Local staff and Local patrons make this an interesting place to visit for those who dare to engage. These delights do not rely on Coffee. We will be back.
