Situated just up the road from the Botanical Gardens, the property is a 20 minute downhill walk to either the Napier CBD or the restaurants and bars of Ahuriri, although you may want to take a cab back up the hill - or give us a ring and we'll pick you up! Let us help you make the most of your stay! On your arrival, relax with a cold glass of Hawke's Bay wine, or a cup of tea, and we can help you with your plans, booking restaurants or activities. We also offer our own bespoke winery tours and a 'dine with you hosts' experience. Great stay in Napier
Helm Crag was a good place for us to stay in Napier. The room was very private and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and well equipped. The hostess was very personable and helpful with suggestions of where to eat and visit. Breakfast was very nice, in the hostess' kitchen with a view out to the bay. The only caveat is that the location is on a hill in a residential area and may be difficult to find without a GPS. It was no problem for us, and the home had space for off-street parking. We would happily return.

Comfortable and relaxing with excellent hosts in a great spot.
Had a great experience staying with Murray and Jacquie at Helm Crag. Nestled up on Hospital Hill, you are treated to the best views of Napier and the Bay. Spacious and luxurious lodgings with ensuite and bath if you are so inclined!! Breakfast was delicious and we really enjoyed chatting over real coffee with our hosts. Look forward to coming back - thank you!!

Art Deco weekend
Great find in Napier!! We received a warm welcome from Murray and Jacquie our hosts on arrival. They showed us to our lovely guest room downstairs with an ensuite, the shower was awesome and the bed very comfy, in fact I had the best nights sleep! Breakfast was delicious, we had cooked with local bought ingredients, nice bowl of fresh fruit and fresh coffee too, great way to start the day. It was nice to chat to the other guests staying too over breakfast. The views were spectacular. Off street parking was available. Quiet location. Walking distance to the centre of Napier if you care to walk. Highly recommend!

Excellent B & B with great views
We were offered a very warm welcome and great hospitality by Jacquie and Murray Sutherland. Helm's Crag has spacious and well-designed bedrooms with excellent en-suite facilities, and nice open public areas with excellent views over the bay offered by the hilltop location. The breakfasts were exceptional. Highly recommended
