Great place for lunch
My friend and I visited here yesterday at 1pm,even though the place was very busy, we received a warm welcome and a table by the cosy fire.Very attentive service, we enjoyed our $16 lunch and non alcoholic cocktails!Well done Marianne,Peter and the team.

Excellent in every way!
In Hastings very briefly we heard from our motel owner that Jarks was a great place to eat. They are not wrong! We hadn't booked, it was a very busy Thursday evening but our lovely waitress, Georgia, found us a table by the fire. This place hums. The staff were absolutely flat out, almost run off their feet. The owner steps up too - behind the bar, out to front of house, even clearing tables, chatting to patrons - constantly looking to see where she needs to be!! Everyone works together really well. My schnitzel and chips were well presented, I asked for the hot veggies to be replaced with a salad - no problem at all. Great selection of food on the Menu and range of drinks was very good. It is very popular and that's no surprise. They have a winning formula. Keep up the good work team!

New menu at our local
loved the scallops perfectly cooked and my husband had the fish on mash also very nice. Just a perfect lunch with a lovely dessert. We have never been disappointed with our meal in all the times we have been here. Always a great welcome and friendly attentive staff.

Move to Taranaki!!!!
A few of us had a work trip to support our other offices. We found Jarks and decided to give it a try as it allowed us to charge back to where we were staying. Safe to say that the service and the food was beautiful! Such a neat place to go. We enjoyed it so much we returned there the next night for dinner and brought another colleague with us who advised that she was a bit upset she didn’t come with us the night before after experiencing how delicious her meal was. If I wore a hat id take it off to the staff, especially our servers and the chef. The food was beautiful, the atmosphere of the whole place was awesome. We made sure to try and convince them to relocate to Taranaki as they would’ve definitely been a regular for us. If we’re ever in the area again we would definitely go back.

Can’t put everything I want
Can’t put everything I want to say in writing ... amazing- delicious- great service , the staff were a pleasure , very tentative - food next level - rib eye and pork belly best I’ve had in a very long time ... we reserved a table and we had a welcome sign on our table when we arrived . We dined there for 2 nights and they ran out of creams brûlée - the chef made an extra 3 for us for the 2nd night ... never had that before - thank you so much

What a great place to dine in. The food speaks for itself and the service is fantastic. A real pleasure to visit whether it be casual or formal you will not be disappointed!
