Although it was cold and rainy when we stayed, the house was lovely and warm, with radiators in every room, and a gas fire in the lounge. We really felt comfortable and at home there. This is a beautifully restored historic house - like stepping back in time. The rooms are tastefully decorated, and although there are no ensuites, there are plenty of bathrooms just down the hall. Kate and Noel are very welcoming hosts, and the meals were delicious. This was a very memorable stay for us, much nicer than all the bland, modern motels.
A Most Beattiful Wedding
Not only was the venue looking a million dollars, but Kate & Noel O'Malley and their wee helper Maddy were wonderful hosts - all adding up to a fantastic wedding venue. As I said to Kate the following day "I'm SO HAPPY we chose to get married there". Kate made the selection of canapes & many of our guests commented on how good they were. Our wedding was on the 19th March & Kate had the gardens & grounds looking fabulous. The old brick walls, timbers, & steps have great character & the house itself was also a beautiful backdrop. It was a cracker day & we will forever be left with beautiful memories.
A lovely old country house
A super B&B set in a lovely old country house with beautiful gardens set just outside the town. The owners, Kate and Noel, were outstanding hosts and we ate an exceptionally nice evening meal there as well as breakfast. Wonderful bedroom and large bathroom, although not en suite. A very special New Zealand experience, although not for those seeking a modern motel.
