Hidden Gem, Nice Surprise
This is a 'Self Contained' unit with two double beds and a fold out sofa bed. One bed is in a room of its own and the other in the Lounge area. There was a sliding door between for privacy. The toilet & bathroom run directly off the main Bedroom. This was not a problem for us as we were all family. There was a walk in wardrobe to store all of your clothes and suitcases, so there was no clutter. The unit was very well appointed with large screen TV, DVD, Sky, Washing machine, Kitchen etc. If we needed anything we just had to ask Gail next door. The beds were extremely comfortable and warm. Spare bedding available in the wardrobe. Large kitchen table and comfy Lounge suite. We were there for a week so it suited our needs perfectly and was very roomy. A surprising discovery was that they ran Gourmet Cooking demonstrations next door, website: - www.deliciouscooking.co.nz. We spent a lovely few hours with good people, good wine, and good food, having the cooking demonstrated. Definately worth a try. We can also recommend the Greenstone walk. A very beautiful part of the country and a good track. There are lots of other walks we could have done but time ran out. For a shorter walk if you go to the end of Coll Street there is a path leading to the Glenorchy Lagoon. Which is really beautiful in the evening and circles round to the Glenorchy Jettly. We dined at the Glenorchy Hotel twice. The Staff and Service was excellent with a friendly atmosphere and great view to the mountains. The Sunday Roast was good value but the regular meals were quite pricey. Probably to be expected as everything is transported in. But good meals. This was a place I would like to visit again both the town and the Accomodation. …
