Enjoy hiking the stunning Nydia Track (2 day hike). On The Track Lodge is situated halfway on the track in a remote paradise with no road access. With fantastic lodge accommodation, this is a perfect stop over for 1 or more nights
Our group of 7 adults stayed a night at the Lodge over Labour Weekend and wish we had booked for longer! Kayla & Adrian manage a stunning property and were incredibly welcoming and efficient. The meal was lovely and the place is spotlesss. Not to be missed, tucked half way along the Nydia track, you will enjoy the quiet beauty of the Lodge and its surrounds.
Two days too short!
A slice of paradise! We stayed for two nights, using the local water taxi as transport which uses a jetty with an easy 15 minute walk around the shoreline on a good track. There are various forms of accommodation to choose from with an option to suit everyone. The beds are super comfy and I slept like a log. The lodge is well set up with heaps of seating areas in different parts of the large verandah and gardens, where you can hide away or chat with other guests. The food was amazeballs and plenty for even the most hungry of appetites. You are also able to purchase snacks , soft drinks , etc . The dawn chorus was awesome and the wood pigeons and tuis abundant in the garden. We wished we could stay longer and will be back with a group of friends next time.
A Slice of Paradise
What a fine time our group of seven lovely ladies had at the Lodge on a 2 night stay package. A nice grunt on the track going in from Kaiuma Bay (a few slip and slides on the clay base coming down into Nydia Bay) and we were greeted with coffee and cake... just what a girl needs (before a much earned wine later on)! The Lodge and its surrounds are stunning... great spaces, clean, tidy, quaint and very, very comfortable beds. After a relaxing hot tub and very filling dinner, we retired to the gamesroom with a fire and plenty of boardgames to choose from (and chocolate... plenty of chocolate). We stayed five in the yurt and two in a chalet and all enjoyed a comfy bed and great showers. Our lay day at the Lodge was simply the best! Picture perfect weather saw some on paddleboards, some just paddling, a walk to a waterfall and an afternoon lazing in the sun (maybe with wine??). We finished the night with s'mores around the fire... bliss! We were so well looked after - Adrian and Kayla are excellent hosts. We didn't want to leave! But all good things must come to an end and our end was met at Duncan Bay by our awesomely obliging driver Ken, who delivered us back to Havelock spent and happy! Would so recommend this to any group or couple or single... some of the best fun is chatting around the dinner table with other guests! …
Outstanding place to stay
What a cool place to stay in the middle of the beautiful Nydia track walk. We shuttled to the end of the walk at Duncan bay and walked back towards Kaiuma Bay and our vehicle with stopping the night at 'On the Track Lodge'. Hosts Adrian and Kahlia are fantastic, very relaxed, friendly and laid back and nothing is a problem. The accommodation can't be faulted for cleanliness & comfort and the amazing food on offer. Everything is so easy and just what you're looking for after a good trek through the hills and bush. Thanks so much for a fabulous experience. Don't hesitate to book this place, it's perfect. We will be back for sure!
A lovely weekend trip
Walked into the lodge from Kaiuma Bay. Lovely to arrive and be greeted with a hot drink. The Lodge is a great and quirky place with modern amenities. We stayed in the train carriages (which have an ensuite) which was a cool experience. Kayla and Adrian were great hosts. We had the dinner which was very nice and catered for vegan. Thanks !
