What a fantastic place!
Eight of us thoroughly enjoyed a Saturday birthday lunch in the small private room. The service was superb. We were most impressed by the maitre d and waiter remembering our orders without the need to write them down ... and getting everything correct. Everyone enjoyed their meals. My pollo pizza was The Best Pizza I have ever eaten, anywhere.

Superior service accompanied by fab food and cocktails
Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch on Saturday, while the food was to die for our friendly, flamboyant waiter was what made our visit! Sad to hear hes on the move to the capital, guess we will need to try find his amazing service down there somewhere! We had the seafood platter followed by prosciutto pizza for me and lasagne for my partner. Several cocktails were also had, each made to absolute perfection. A thoroughly enjoyable lunch.

Very enjoyable evening.
Booked a birthday dinner for my wife for 6 o'clock fifth of January. We had scallops and prawn cutlets for entrees. For mains we had the most delicious 220g eye fillet tenderloin medium well done, with roast potatoes and veggies. The Osteria chefs are obviously extremely talented people and the whole meal was beautifully presented. It was a memorable evening for us both. My wife received an ice cream from the waitress who sang happy birthday, with many joining in. Thank you Ata and Stanko for a great time, we will definitely be returning.

Two nights in a row!
Our experience at the Mt Maunganui restaurant where ten of us celebrated our friends birthday was so wonderful, we made a point of stopping at their Matamata restaurant on our way home next night (22/11). Boom!! Two for two! The same great food (ordered different dishes and all was stunning.. generous portions, seasoned beautifully. Efficient but unobtrusive service. Our waiter/barman was hilarious. A bit camp (but sensitive to different personalities eg customer next door was sullen and quiet so waiter was courteous and professional, whereas my wife and l were up for a chat and a joke - LOVE LOVE LOVE your work!), very warm, engaging, professional. Another wonderful experience, we will make a point of returning when passing through, thank you! ????????????

Best place to celebrate our Ruby anniversary!!
We were delighted with our evening spent in the company of our 4 adult children and their spouses. Osteria provided the perfect ambience (in the alcove), food and service (thank you Tina)!! To top it all they shouted us a bottle of champagne. Cant get better than that!!
