Piha Domain Motor Camp

When I booked the campsite for a weekend for myself and my partner, I did not know that I would fall in love with the place and Piha. I was welcomed by the manager Fiona and her business partner like a member of their family. After my checkout, I had to wait hours before the shuttle bus back to Auckland and Fiona offered to keep my luggage while I went around for a walk. On my way back it started to rain heavily and Fiona welcome me in her home, offered me a warm cup of tea and kept me in great company. She shared great memories of the campground, she is a big supporters of Kiwi families who spend their holiday over there. Fiona explained that the campground prices are reasonable and affordable, because as she said 'Every Kiwi child deserves to go camping with their family and every family should be able to afford to go camping with their kids.' The casual meeting with Fiona and my stay in Piha's Domain Campground might have been only a weekend long, however, the memory of it will always remain and I will go back there again as soon as possible. We picked this little spot for somewhere to rest up and get over the jet lag. The staff are lovely and so helpful, the beach is gorgeous and the site is clean. We arrived having had van troubles and the staff were happy to let us use the phone etc. The Piha Cafe which is just over the road does wonderful food, if they are closed, there is the local RHS (just up the road) where they serve simple but excellent food. One of the best burgers I've had in years! And of course dont forget to take a walk to the waterfall, it's beautiful and well worth a visit. Thanks for making us welcome.
