Great Glampsite and farm walk
We spent a couple of nights here enjoying the expansive views down to Kapiti Island. Lit the fire in the tent at night. Great views from the twin outdoor bathtubs. We also did the 9km farm walk which we enjoyed. The food was great and Sarah a lovely welcoming host. Great that you’re the only ones there.
Short Break Birthday Away
We have camped in the Outback of Australia in all it's primitiveness so we were looking forward to the extreme luxury of Glamping at Ridge Top Farm. And all our expectations of the facilities were well and truely realised. The large comfortable Yurt. The excellent lounge/kitchen/bathroom space, the sheltered hillside with dual hot tub. Needed longer to fully unwind. The weather gave us a true experience alternating from really hot, no wind, beautiful sunset one day, to drizzle, cold, windy the next. The fireplace got a really good workout in the middle of January. We self catered, however host catering is also available. The only negative is for those who are light sleepers. Yurts can flap around in the wind generating noise. If this is a problem, I suggest you sleep in the cabin instead of the Yurt when the wind gets up. We loved it and will absolutely return. We may even bring friends next time. …
Perfect Glamping Weekend!
From the moment we set eyes on the glampsite we knew we were in for a special experience. We unloaded our car and carried our gear a short walk down the hill to the site. We met the hosts who showed us around the site and made us feel very welcome they even offered to come back at check out time and generously offered to carry our gear back to our car. The kitchen area is really well thought out and is well stocked with everything you need to self cater, just bring your own food, or the lovely host can cater for you. The hosts provide a large chillibin with ice blocks to keep your food cool. We brought our own chillibin for drinks ???? there is no power at the site which wasn’t an issue. The hosts have thought of everything you need to make your stay enjoyable and stress free. We were able to light the outdoor brazier and enjoy a few drinks while we watched the sunset. All firewood for all fire burners is provided. There are lots of activities so you won’t be bored, walking, clayshooting (extra cost) gold driving range, that inner kid came out in is and tobogganing down the hill site left us in hysterics. Sleeping facilities are top notch and can comfortably sleep up to 10 people. The bathroom was a very very pleasant surprise and we squealed with delight at the rain head shower with a view looking over the wetlands and surrounds. The outdoor twin baths a must try! A night away for the girls and we were not disappointed! An extremely enjoyable glamping experience, the perfect place to totally unwind and relax. I’ll go back in a heartbeat! …
Little gem in the highland
Nice scenic drive to Ridge Top and what a hidden gem up there. The tent and the little cottage with very comfy beds, while the kitchen has everything to cook a decent meal. Just enjoyed having the family together, experiencing the beauty and tranquility around the camp. Sarah is a very lovely host to deal with, she emailed days before to check our dietary requirement and make sure even the children are covered so non-spicy food provided for them. The meals were simply delicious, and the pavlova is also very remarkable. Knowing how much our kids love playing with the dogs, Sarah let us exposed to their sheepdogs which is indeed fun for our girls. Highly recommended
