The best pies

Just visited. Home made pies (steak and cheese) was the best I’ve ever had! Friendly staff. Would definitely come back again.

A warm welcome and amazing food!

We arrived at the cafe as a group of sodden, dripping cyclists and the lovely American hostess/owner provided us with towels, a wonderfully warm welcome and the best cherry pie we had tasted. The cafe food is all home made and delicious. We got brilliant coffees in large cups and enjoyed our stay immensely. Highly recommend Sapphire Cafe.

Excellent food and welcome

We came in dripping wet from biking the Twin Coast track. We got a warm welcome, towels to dry us and the floor. The food was excellent. You must try the cherry and apple pies, delicious. Couldn't praise it higher.

Cycle stop and refresh

When on the Twin Coast Cycle Trail this is a great place to have a fantastic coffee, a great bit to eat, and a jolly chat with the lovely American lady who owns the cafe. Ideal for cyclists as there are seats outside and a line of cycle racks....and yes the coffee is well sized and well made.

Best coffee on cycleway

Highly recommend this cafe to other cyclists, with huge cups of coffee, and a friendly, environment it's a 'must-do stop-over on the #Twincoast cycle trail. doing the trail in sections so planning our next route so we can pop back in for coffee and lunch :)

Simply the Best

Stopped in for a pie & coffee after riding from Horoeke. My husband had the homemade apple pie, gave it a10/10 for flavour, eye appeal & value for money. I had a smoked fish pie, 10/10 for flavour & the pastry was divine. As for the coffee OMG, the largest coffee I’ve ever had at a cafe. Absolutely a must stop at this cafe for the delicious food, great coffee & friendly attentive staff. Will definitely be back for a slice of apple pie for dessert tonight. ✨????

Great Food and Great Service

I've being stopping by this cafe for years. The new owner Kelly is doing a great job managing the cafe. Good food cooked by Marion who also gives good service. The all day big breakfast is excellent.

10/10 coffee and great staff

Best coffee I've found in Northland. Really friendly staff and amazing brew, 100% recommend a visit if you're going through. What a gem!
