Shades Of Jade

I went into Shades of Jade to send jewellery home for my family, and honestly, I couldn’t rate them high enough! Such beautiful items and the team were really helpful and kind. Such a beautiful shop! I sent the items home to the UK and my family love them to pieces!

Outstanding customer service. Katherine knows every piece of jewelry in the shop. She can tell you who carved it and where it came from. Well worth the experience. Absolutely brilliant beautiful place.

My husband wanted to gift me a pounamu while we were visiting Greymouth so he took me to Shades of Jade. We were so impressed. Catherine is so passionate about helping you choose the right piece and has so much knowledge of the carvings, the stones and the carvers. Fabulous, friendly, genuine service. We came away with a stunning piece and I lived it so much that we went back the next day to get some earrings which Catherine spent ages helping me choose. She also made the chord she put on to my necklace and it’s gorgeous. I would thoroughly recommend this store to anyone wanting a beautiful, quality pounamu.

What a great experience. The owners are very knowledgeable about their pounamu and the tikanga surrounding it. They took the time and helped me to pick out a special piece reflecting me and my journey. Now that I know about this gem I would not shop anywhere else for west coast pounamu

I wanted to buy the NZ greenstone as legend has it the stone is porous and part of your essence is captured in the stone and that it carries the ancestors spirit. I’m expecting my first granddaughter and thought I could pass it on to her when I die. (Sounds morbid I know, but since she’s growing up as a kiwi, thought she might like it) This is actual greenstone from the area carved by a local artist. The sales lady was lovely and very helpful.
You have to have someone give you the greenstone - so got hubby to buy it for me ????

I entered to check a stone, which wasn’t greenstone but they gave me advice on where to look for them and I came back 2 hours after with a very beautiful and big chunk of greenstone that I found on the beach !! What a souvenir from my travel!! They didn’t try to make me spend my money there but just gave me advice on how to take care of my stone and wrote everything for me, definetely recommend these people and this shop, you can see how much passion they have! Thank you again!!
