A modest parish church close to central Queenstown
Just 4-5 blocks up the hill from the lake, this small, modern Catholic church houses an active and passionate congregation. The gray and white stone exterior, the symmetrical facade belie the warm interior, with the arched wooden ceiling. Modern stained glass over the altar represents saints. A statue of the Virgin Mary to the right of the altar is modern, as are the frescoes that represent the stations to the Cross. A single nave leads straight to the simple altar, open to the rest of the church. The day we visited, the church was packed for Sunday mass. AV projection facilitated the participation of the faithful in prayers and song.
