Eat up in the trees
Lovely dinner here on our last night in Franz. Salmon confit starter was delicious and the lamb main was perfectly tender. I personally found all the portion sizes bang on. Satisfying but not overfilling so had room for a dessert! Beautiful setting surrounded by native bush. Staff were great and knew the menu well. Kids also loved it.

A nice treat on South Island road trip
We were staying in the fabulous Te Waonui Forest Retreat as a much appreciated upgrade from the sister hotel in Franz Josef. Because of this, we treated ourself to dinner at the Canopy and had a fabulous evening. We enjoyed dining on the deck overlooking the native bush. The service was impeccable. Our meals were both high quality and beautifully prepared. I'd definitely eat here again if visiting Franz Josef.

amazing food in a beautiful setting
After a full day on the road it was great to be pampered in this beautiful setting. The food was superb. My wife had the Duck and I had the beef fillet. Both melted in the mouth and presentation was excellent

Had the most amazing dining experience here after a long drive from Te Anau. Mick and Vikum were so welcoming throughout our dining experience asking about our day and the food was amazing and affordable! Would definitely recommend to anyone heading this way! The view was lovely also!

Delicious !
We had the 5 course degustation dinner while staying at the hotel. It was really delicious, each course was full of flavour & well presented. The service was excellent, the decor modern & the forest views lovely. I would certainly recommend this restaurant for a special dinner.
