Not to be missed.

Best peppered steak pie. I feel like having one of the other homemade pies but my wife is restraining me! Very good coffee in great quirky surrounds, plants, carvings. The only coffee between westport & Karamea and an oasis. Lovely service and ambience.

This wee cafe has to be up there as one of the best.

Everything about The Scullery is memorable. Bev the owner is chatty and oozes warmth. The setting - umbrellas nestling amidst tropical trees and plants and the most striking carvings and statues. Seats with hand crocheted covers in bright covers The home made pies are yum. The coffee as good as my favourite Wellington cafe. The yarns with locals as they arrive to order their food and coffees too. Don't miss it. It is at the start of the road to Denniston just out of Westport. Oh and don't miss Denniston too. It's so worth it.

Don't pass this by.

Stopped here on our way through 18 months ago and so it was a must do this time around. There is just a sign saying "pies, coffee" and it doesn't look a very big place but there is a surprising amount of seating. The pies are great home made kiwi pies with both traditional and modern fillings plus a range of cookies and the coffee is good.

Alfresco Dining beneath a canopy of native trees with local Buller identities

An excellent stopping off point on your journey North or South along the Karamea Highway. Only a few km's from Westport this oasis of not too fine dining is a must stop for all motoring public heading North or South. Just swing off the highway, past the War Memorial and stop. There among the trees a coffee cart that produces the most magnificent home made tasty pies, and flavoursome coffee, and cold drinks too. Managed by Bev, and staffed by her group of local helpers this little dot on the map is well worth the stop.

Yum!

This was the best pie ever .. like, really .. ever. The sign "coffee, pies" was more a breakfast beacon to my husband, my surprise was pleasant to the point of delight at a parcel style pie that was as good as anything I'd bake at home (which is usually the only time I can truly relax into a pie experience.) The coffee was also good, and the courtyard art garden delightful.
