The White House on Marine Parade Bed & Breakfast

The White House was everyone's favorite lodging during our New Zealand vacation. It felt like we were in a small compound and less than a minute walk from the beach. We loved how the bedrooms were spread out and private, but you could still open the shades and see into the courtyard. The kitchen had plenty of space for our party of 11 and had amazing views of the ocean and mountains. The kids loved the game room so much they slept in it. The property was stocked with all the amenities you would need. The drawers had pictures so that you would know where to put back each item. They had wine and champagne ready for purchase in the courtyard kitchen. The master suite had its own small kitchen and dishwasher. We loved how they left all the ingredients for breakfast since it was a 30 minute trek over the mountain to reach the city. There was a small convenience store a couple of minutes away if you really need something. Our favorite moments were having breakfast together in the kitchen and hanging out at night in front of the fireplace in the courtyard area. Sehr netter, freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber. Wunderschöne Zimmer mit Blick aufs Meer. Sauber, ordentlich und sehr gut eingerichtet. Aufenthaltsraum mit kostenlosem Kaffee, Tee und Wasser. Das Frühstück war einfach nur Klasse.

Ruud (Rod) and Edith were wonderful hosts, very welcoming and hospitable, full of good advice for getting the most out of our visit to the Hawkes Bay area. Great breakfast each morning of our two day stay. Comfy bed and a very spacious shared bathroom. As there only two rooms, sharing was no problem. We felt very special to be Invited to share an excellent breakfast with our hosts on the last day of our stay.

Warm and engaging host took the time to ensure that we would be comfortable and at home both in his home and in Napier. Beautiful modern home across from the ocean and easy to find on Marine Parade. Easy on-street parking. Although there is a rail line very(!!) close to the back of the house, the trains pass quickly and this was not intrusive. Breakfast was a full cooked British style breakfast as our choice. A lighter breakfast could have been served if desired. Wifi. The ground floor is dedicated to two rental rooms plus a family room, tv, coffee, and space which opens to an outside courtyard.

Beautifully appointed b&b. Wonderful company, beautiful decore, scrumptious breakfast. Outstanding host and hostess. Highly recommended establishment. Close to CBD. Definitely stay with Rod & Edith again.
