Welcome to Tongariro Adventures at Kuratau beside the lake - our Turangawaewae "our place in the world". Close to the spectacular Tongariro Alpine Crossing; Cycle Trails; White Water Rafting; Trout Fishing; Kayaking; Ski Fields - let us sort it! Let Tongariro Adventures Shuttle transport you! Lake Taupo and a safe swimming beach is less than a 2 minute stroll from all our ACCOMMODATION options. THE LODGE: A fully furnished and equipped home in own grounds. 3 Bedrooms - 2 very comfortable Queen size beds and a King single bed. A generous covered outside Deck with a large Dining area, overhead Heating and BBQ. THE BOATHOUSE: Exclusive use of a new, purpose built accommodation comprising a Kingsize bed; separate bathroom with shower, vanity unit and lavatory. TV (with Netflix) BBQ, Refrigerator, Microwave; A comfortable, cushioned 3 seater sofa, high quality furniture and fittings. Exclusive use ofyour own outside area. PIHANGA and TONGARIRO Rooms: Guest use of downstairs area with own entry, which includes two bedrooms, a Double and a Twin, bathroom with lavatory and shower, large guest living space with dining table. Refrigerator and Microwave. Access to a BBQ.

Tongariro Crossing Shuttle

Highly recommend for transport to and from Tongariro Crossing, Barb and Mike are great hosts, super friendly and informative and communication was excellent especially for weather updates..beers and soft drinks on pick up were a nice touch, and door to door service. Kayaking

We hired a high quality kayak and paddled up the Kuratau river into wonderful serene surroundings. An easy paddle with a stop for coffee and cake at the vineyard. This is a magnificent 2 hour trip for those in the Taupo area taking you into a beautiful river where we met no-one else apart from the kingfisher and cormorants. Highly recommended!

Relaxing stay in between Tangariro National Park and Lake Taupo ...

Barb and Michael are very kind hosts. The place is a little bit outside of Turangi which is perfect. The breakfast is made out of fresh fruit, yoghurt, granola, toast and honey, which I like. The coffee is well done and tasty. Everything at 100% ????!

Wonderful hosts

Barb and Michael were fantastic hosts- they made us feel so welcome, shuttled us to the Tongariro crossing, made great breakfast and were lovely to chat to. Thoroughly recommend staying here- you can kayak and SUP on the lake too!

High Five for Barb!

This place lives from Barb‘s exceptional hospitality. She takes care about you and advises very carefully around all possible hikes and do’s and don’ts around Tongariro Nationalpark. She shuttled us to Tongariro Alpine Crossing and made some great burgers at the end of a beautiful day hike. Breakfast while listening to the wind in the trees surrounding the sun deck - perfect! We enjoyed our time in Kuratau and would definitively come back to this little paradise at Lake Taupo. Take care, Mathias
