Beautiful accommodation, lovely host and perfect location.
Mia is a great host, this lovely modern studio style accommodation is situated on a beautiful property only minutes from the town of Matamata. We stayed here as we were visiting the Hobbiton Movie set tour just 10 minutes away. We were welcomed by Mia and her beautiful dog Hunter. The property is extremely clean, modern and beautifully decorated. Quiet, air con/heating. Mia provides breakfast the night before so we had cereal, fresh bread, preserves, fruit, yogurt,milk & orange juice plus home made cookies. Bathroom has toiletries provided. TV, dining table, microwave, tea coffee etc. Netflix WiFi A perfect place for visiting Hobbiton and a beautiful spot to stay and explore. Thank you Mia for making our stay so perfect.

Awesome BnB
What a wonderful peaceful spot for a BnB, rural but still close to main centre, we were fortunate to be able to bring our small dog too! Immaculate accommodation modern and very clean, all the comforts of home , double glazing, heat pump, comfy bed, including a delicious continental breakfast including home made bread by host Mia! We have stayed in a lot of five class motels but this has to top a lot of them, 100% recommend Walnut Lodge ????????

Beautiful rural retreat
Our host Mia was so welcoming and provided us with a full continental breakfast at no extra cost. She also makes eyecatching jewellery and she invited us over to have a look at her selection which we could buy from for gifts or ourselves. The 2 bedroom unit we were in was like new, with beautiful decor and rural/garden views out the windows. The location though is not far out of town at all. We were privileged also to watch two movies on Netflix that evening.

Beautiful accommodation in a wonderful, peaceful setting
This was my favourite place we stayed on our New Zealand tour! A lodge in the spacious and beautiful gardens of the host's family home, the accommodation consisted of two bedrooms, lounge area, kitchenette and bathroom. It was immaculately clean and perfectly quiet as well as being ideally placed for our visit to Hobbiton. Mia, the host, who was wonderfully welcoming, brought our breakfast to the unit while we were out - wonderful breads, fruit, yoghurt, cereals and more. Can't recommend Walnut Lodge highly enough!

Country comfortable
What a lovely experience! Our hosts were welcoming and helpful. The yard surrounding their home and the bed & breakfast are lavishly landscaped and filled with flowers. We loved being in the country with the maize field as a friendly backdrop. With Hobbiton nearby and Matamata’s restaurants to enjoy-we are very pleased with our good fortune to have booked our stay here.
