Beautiful location

We spent one night here as a treat to ourselves, and it was certainly that. The suite is roomy with a wonderful view. Lovely spa bath to soak in after long walks on the beach. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place.

Beautiful, peaceful, wonderful B&B

We were on at the end of a 3-week trip to NZ and were en route between Taupo and Wellington, so had booked this as our opportunity to see the west side of the North Island and all of its rough and tumble beaches. We booked this small B&B, lovingly run by Tony and Leonie Strawbridge. It's a very small town, and so we weren't necessarily expecting much, just a place to stay for the evening after some beach-hopping. We could not have been more wrong! Tony and Leonie were very gracious in our ever-changing arrival times, but met us at the door, welcoming us and showing us their lovely 2-unit B&B. We had the upstairs room in the front, from which we could just see the ocean, about two blocks away. Their house is in a quiet neighborhood, and they are very committed to fair trade and eco-consciousness in all their practices. They gave us some nearby dining tips (we were walk-ins at Pipi Point, about 2 blocks away on the main drag) and brought in a wonderful and beautifully presented continental-type breakfast to our large suite. The furnishings were very tasteful yet comfortable. Plenty of light and a stunning ensuite bath with tub AND shower. All the amenities one would hope for, including a history of the area, clear instructions on running the spa bath and the DVD player, a nice assortment of DVD's and books/magazines for our perusal, and comfortable recliners for resting or reading. We walked to the beach, to dinner and to the little 4-Square Convenience Store (can't get enough NZ wine!). Our weather turned blustery and rainy, so our beach time was limited, but it was a beautiful, rustic clean beach, so it's on our list for our next trip! Thank you, Windy Waves, for a much-needed quiet break. …

Fantastic B&B

What a wonderfully immaculate property! We stayed in the B&B room which was just lovely! The room is bright, airy, spotlessly clean and a delight to spend time in. A very relaxing atmosphere. Leonie and Tony are kind and thoughtful hosts. We wholeheartedly would recommend Windy Waves to anyone who is looking for quality accommodation in the area. Thank you for your hospitality!!

Second stay at this lovely B&B

And it was as good as we remembered. Tony and Leonie have thought of everything - great toiletries, loads of DVDs for wet weather, robes, a great breakfast with the freshest perfectly boiled eggs, free wifi - and they are friendly without being overbearing! Will definitely return.

A great find on the outerskirst of Levin

Fortunately / unfortunately the motel where my colleagues were based was all full, so I was left to find other accommodation. I came across this on TA, and the reviews did not let it down! I stayed in the downstairs apartment, plenty of space, very clean, spacious, nice little kitchen, etc...Complimentary books and DVDs to read and watch. Tony the proprietor was a great host....I would definitely come again!
