About us

We invite our guests to step back in time to enjoy Victorian Country living on a grand scale. Our fully restored 1893 homestead is registered with the NZ Historic Place Trust. Everything, from the fine quality Italian chandeliers, antique furniture and luxurious Egyptian cotton towels and sheets to the beautifully appointed en-suites, have been carefully chosen to shamelessly pamper our guests. Our hosting style reflects a high level of service awareness plus attention to detail and presentation. We are 3 minutes to town, for your guests' convenience, and have a 4.5+ rating with Qualmark NZ. Get away from it all and catch up with your reading in the spa, soak up the Hawkes Bay sun with a glass of wine by the pool, or play croquet on the lawn... ...and when night falls, enjoy a hearty home cooked meal, featuring our own seasonal organic fruit, herbs and veg, with homemade bread baked daily..... and warm your toes by one of the gorgeous fireplaces. Retire to your room and indulge yourself with a satin jet massage shower or sink into a deep luxurious soak in the traditional clawfoot bath. You're also invited to browse the library to enjoy a book by the open fire, or join us in the vast country kitchen for some sparkling company or a sound thrashing at cards!

Fabulous stay in New Zealand!

We recently stayed at the Woburn Homestead in New Zealand while visiting nearby Hawk's Bay Winery region. Abosolutely loved the accommodations and service we received. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to our specifications. We were upgraded upon arrival to a more luxurious room than we reserved because they had availability. There is a pool and jacuzzi on the grounds overlooking the extensive gardens. We especially enjoyed their beautiful gardens with fruit trees, herbs and roses. Heather, the proprietor, uses much of the produce from her own garden for cooking. Both Heather and her husband were very personable and welcoming. They truly made us feel at home in their charming and luxurious B&B. You must try it if you are ever in Hawk's Bay. Great, relaxing 2 night stay!

Totally refute last review

A group of 24 ladies visited Woburn today for lunch. It was just a wonderful experience. The hosts were friendly and the luncheon was well prepared, varied and of high quality. I find it a bit difficult to understand why a visitor (even if a paying one) would feel they have the right to criticise the decor of someone else's home. If they require an uncluttered look, they should feel perfectly free to indulge that desire - in their own home. I wonder what size they were that they felt intimidated by the fact that there were plates on the toilet walls that they might knock off. The toilets were about one and a half times the size of a conventional toilet!!! Ok, I can understand the criticism regarding the fly. The hostess was particularly friendly and I would recommend anyone to visit there and no, I have never met either Heatha or her husband prior to today. …
