Expectations Exceeded

We had planned to go here for a special evening meal but unfortunately due to circumstances could not travel from home. INSTEAD, having talked to Barbara Taniyama, we arranged to pick up a complete meal for 5 adults to have at home. We ordered 9 dishes from the main menu, agreed a time and it was ready at the time agreed. The food was superb and equal to anything I have had in Tokyo and Kamakura. Thoroughly enjoyed by all including my grandson. Can't wait to have dinner at the Restaurant itself.

Fabulous vegan options too!!

Fabulous vegan selection. One of our party of three is vegan and there were 18 vegan options to choose from! Because we were visiting palmie (and were impressed with the selection) we went overboard and ordered 6 vegan options, plus one chicken and one salmon. They were all delicious with the vegan options enjoyed by all. We had plenty of leftovers for the next day! The service was welcoming, and we appreciate the lovely waitstaff taking the time to help advise and explain on the menu items! I cannot wait to return next time I visit my daughter at uni to try some of the other options. Thank you so much!

Stunning for the third time

Can’t speak highly enough of the excellent food and service. Can’t get over the food here and the care and attention you receive couldn’t be more friendly and personable. Pity Yatai isn’t around the corner from home.

Drop in

We are visitors to PN & this was the closest restaurant to accommodation. It far exceeded expectations - the food was fantastic - we would definitely come back again. The home made red bean ice cream was worth coming for on its own.

Just so good

It’s been a few months since I last visited Yatai but oh it is so good. The decor is gorgeous and service is brilliant. There was a new menu since I last visited and certainly the options that we chose were all delicious and beautifully presented. Definitely to be recommended.

Outstanding Japanese

We love Japanese food, so on a trip south to drop our Daughter at Uni we stopped in for dinner. This is an excellent restaurant, make no mistake, they do all the key stuff well, Sashimi excellent, Gyoza excellent, warm Saki wonderful! The real star of the meal was the vegetable tempura, simply sensational. The special Katsu Chicken was great along with the beef and vegetables. We will be back.
